Thanksgiving Humor

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, But I just couldn't sleep I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep. The leftovers beckoned - The dark meat and white But I fought the temptation with all of my might. I Tossing and turning with anticipation The thought of a snack became infatuation. So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore. I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes, Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes. I felt myself swelling so plump and so round, 'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie. But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees.... Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries, please.May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be plump. May your potatoes 'n gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious, may your pies take the prize, May your Thanksgiving dinner stay off of your thighs.
May your Thanksgiving be Blessed!

Wordless Wednesday!

This 'note', along with a rock (it was sparkly) is what our oldest daughter gave her Daddy for his Birthday last weekend. Why its on a napkin, I have no idea, but it makes it even sweeter!

"Thanks for entertaining me through all my previous life, and supporting me through the roughest and most calmest oceans, seas, deserts, and times in my wonderful life all because of you!! -Macy"

I am not sure how rough her short life has been thus far, but apparently Daddy has always been there for her and she is grateful....

I am sure that it has been all of the chores that I make her do! I am a mean and hateful mother! HEHEHEHE

How cool are women?

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

Someone sent this to me in an email and I just thought it was fitting for my mood lately......

The Economy according to Michael Scott of Dunder Mifflin

Here's the thing about this so-called "financial crisis," if it were really bad, people would be jumping out of buildings on Wall Street. No one's jumping out of buildings, so it's probably just the media scaring us again, just like it did about birds catching the flu and cows getting mad. But there is a problem and in order to make things right, the government needs to start printing more money and lots of it. Now I know it takes money to make money, but I sell paper and you can get a couple hundred sheets of it for a buck, thousands if you buy in bulk. If the government bought some quality Dunder Mifflin paper to print new money on, believe me, they'd make a huge profit on the deal even after the cost of ink. So if anyone knows Barack Obama, please forward this to him, and make sure he knows we're having an incredible special on Hammermill Great White recycled copy paper-99.99% jam free! But if the government insists on continuing to get ripped off by the big box chains, there are other fixes. When it comes to stocks, they should start buying low and then selling high. I hear that's a good way to maximize profits. They should also consider focusing more on "transparency," "sustainability," and "stabilization." Those appear to be good things. At the same time we should avoid "recessions," "speculative bubbles," and "asset-liability mismatches," because according to Yahoo Answers, those are really bad things. Plus, they could cut or raise interest rates depending on the situation. I think if we take these simple steps, all our economic troubles will probably just go away, like global warming did after Al Gore made that really boring film.

For those of us Over 30...

This is too funny, I recv'd it in an email and its soooooo……… TRUE !!!
THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears With their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking
Twenty-five miles to school every morning.
Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways
Yadda, yadda, yadda
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up,
There was no way in hell I was going to lay
A bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it
And how easy they've got it!
But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of Thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my Childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you Don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and Look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!
There was no email!! We had to actually write Somebody a letter, with a pen!
Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! There were no MP3' s or Napsters! You wanted to Steal music, you had to hitch hike to the damn record store and shop lift it yourself!
Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you Were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school,Your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you Just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister! We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video Games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games Like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You Actually had to use your Imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or Screens, it was just one screen Forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting Harder and harder and Faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE! You had to use a Little book called a TV Guide to find out what was On! You were screwed when it Came to channel surfing! You had to get off Your ass and walk over to the TV to change the Channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons On Saturday Morning. Do you Hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled Little rat-bastards!And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat Something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids Today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted Five minutes back in 1980!

No offense to the Dads

Here is a little joke that was emailed to me.....thought it was cute!

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that.'Why?' my daughter asked. 'Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs,' I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, 'Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart. 'I was thinking quickly. 'All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom.' We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. 'OH...I get it!' she beamed, 'So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad. ''Exactly,' I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Thanks!

Today I am going to skip my normal Tempt My Tummy Tuesday.....But I will be back next week, don't you worry...
I wanted to send a big Thank you to all of our Veterans out there.
I just returned from the Veterans Day Assembly at my girls' school. The twins preschool class led the Pledge of Allegiance and Macy is in the choir and they sang 'Our Heros will Live On', by Teresa Jennings.
There were several Veterans in attendance and they were all honored by name.
We were brought to tears by a 3rd grader that sang the Star Spangled Banner and a special poem for the Veterans that were no longer with us.
The kids especially loved the motorcycles that ride around the circle in the front of the school. The kids line up along the sidewalk and carry signs of Thanks.....
There are so many Veterans in my life to be Thankful for. Here are a few.....

Bit Griffin
Michael Griffin
Ted Quillinan
Geoffrey Wegrzyn
Mike Peters
Joseph Barczak
Mat Bradford
Billy Forthmann

I am so proud of our Country and what it stands for. God Bless America!

I took these on Friday, Nov. 6th!!!! I live in Missouri and its November and these plants bloom in the spring and thrive in the summer?!?!?!?!

This Columbine shot up under neath my bay window!

And This Clematis was about 8-9 feet tall and my husband pulled it out for the season and it has grown back and is blooming!!!!!
It is going to be 20 degrees below zero tonight so I am sure that they will look rough tomorrow, but how wonderful to see my favorites in the giving time of the year!

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

I just have to remind myself of what my Pastor told us last weekend......
That we need to pray for the candidates, and that we really really need to pray for the candidate that we didn't want to win....if he wins.
That is all I am going to say about that.

Holy Cow folks.....I did it again.....

Embarrasingly enough I would like to know how many other people have walked up to their front door loaded down with purses, bags, misc. items from the car, groceries, etc. and hit the unlock button on the car door unlocker thingy? And then stood there for a minute and hit it again wondering why the front door didn't open???
Yes, Folks. I have done this several times and I still amaze myself when I realize how long I stood there completely puzzled and couldn't figure out what it was that I was doing wrong???

Mani and Pedi's

So after having 4 girls....the older they get the more they need to 'primp'. I Struggled for forever with nail polish. I use the stuff on my toes, but I hardly ever paint my own finger nails.
But the girls love love love it all. And I never could get them to sit still and we were always in awkward positions and they wore my patience then....UNTIL I put them in the sink! It works. They are in the right spot and I sit on the toliet (not going of course) and we paint away. They can't get up and go get something while they are drying....they can't move at all! It fabulous!
Just thought that I would share this wonderful new way to trap your kids and please them at the same time!
