Tempt My Tummy Tuesday~Crab Cakes

I have been bad about my TMTT postings...its been a few weeks. So I am back! Here is a yummy recipe from a magazine I got years ago, it makes me think of the coast...

Crab Cakes
1 pound crabmeat
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
1/8 cup mayo
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
3 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp. white pepper (i use whatever kind I have at the time)
1/8 cup diced onions
2-3 tbsp. diced green bell pepper
Panko Bread crumbs or plain if you don't have Panko
Peanut oil for cooking.....

In a bowl, combine all but the breadcrumbs. Mix well. Shape into 3 oz. patties. Coat with bread crumbs. Cook on high heat in 1 tsp. oil until brown on both sides. Serves 3

So last night......we had our first incident with stitches. I have 4 girls and this was my 3rd trip to the ER. The first was Macy when she was 2. She fell down some steps and wanted to go to sleep, so we took her to the ER. Then once Emma was a little dehydrated and I took her to get fluids. But this time, it was a blood everywhere freak accident that had me turn into race car driver. Kae was playing with Geoff and she whipped her head around so her wouldn't 'get her' and whap her forehead hit right on the corner of the wall.

So after 3 hours in the ER, I emerged skilled in the art of stitches, needles (real big ones for a 5 year old) and the strength of a child that sees a needle and thread coming at her right above her eyeballs.....Here is the result.

Okay so I was just annoyed at her voice and almost turned it off until she started singing! This is so funny! I can only imagine what her 'haters' have to say!!

cars

So my 2 yr old is in love with the movie Cars (2 weeks ago it was Annie). Now everything she talks about is 'Racing Cars', thats what she calls it. I love that I have all girls and that they are not all girly. It helps that they are ALL SO DIFFERENT. Who would of thought that my girls would love sports and dance and karate and HSM and baby dolls and legos and barbie dolls and gardening! They all just grew up on me this winter. What happened to all my little babies......

St Louis Zoo

Here are a few pictures from our weekday adventure at the zoo....recognize the DMB shirt?? Yep, I got one and its coming around again, June 17! I know that its a guaranteed date night! So it was a beautiful day at the STL Zoo. Geoff took the day off work and we headed out early....it was packed and all the animals were out. It was a perfect day......and we all slept well that night.

I would like to know why my daughter thinks that its okay to wear a zuchinni and ballet shoes. We call bikini's zuchinni's around here, don't ask me why..... So it was only 23 degrees when I woke up this morning! And I have the heat set on 70......

ps. I updated my layout and after all that work, I am not sure that I even like it.....

The cat is out of the bag

So its official. I knew that we were going to Florida. Tampa Bay even. But I just found out details. Not itinerary details, but location details! We are staying at the Plantation Inn & Resort. I figured we would end up at the Super 8, you never know! We have never stayed anywhere like this before. I guess that we have kids and they come before our fun. Who knows! But I am excited. I can scuba and swim with manatees. They even offer spa amenities (can't afford them, but that's cool). I just hope that Geoff is able to take a break from his 'work' to have some fun with me!!!!!!! And we both are NOT golfers, so that part is a wash, but who cares!

This girl can find anything. She pushes chairs up to the fridge and gets into the stuff thats off limits on top of the fridge and she even has been caught pushing the chair up to the stove, standing on it and getting into the cabinet above the stove. Well this time, I caught her!

no excuses

I really have no excuses for why I have not been blogging everyday like I did a few months ago. I think life sometimes just gets in the way. I have not been commenting on many blogs, but I have been reading them, okay so I have been reading 10% and skimming the rest. Sorry folks, but I have just been busy. I think that maybe when my twins start Kindergarten I will have more time, or maybe not. They start the Big K in 5 months and 2 weeks, not that I am counting down the days or anything. I think maybe I am just re-prioritizing things. I just want to 'mother' more and be a better housekeeper and crap like that. I have joined 2 small groups and enjoying them greatly. I just finished a cookbook full of recipes contributed by moms in my MOPS group. I can't wait for that to be over and done with! IT was a lot of hard work. Now I have 3 getting ready to play ball and I am the manager for the twins t-ball team and my Geoff is going to be the coach. I am so freakin' nervous about being in charge of 15 4-6 year olds!
Um. what will I do with my 2 year old during practices and such? heck I have not thought of that till just now. great. I totally am enjoying today though. The weather is warming up and I have locked the girls outside and I am forcing them to play. Really I want them to just like each other lately. Everything is a fight. My favorite one so far was....."Its a ROCK" "NO, ITS A GEM" "ITS A ROCK!" "NO ITS A GEM" NO ITS A ROOOOOOCCCKKKKKK!!!!" Life is grand.
So on a way brighter note I found out that Geoff and I are for sure going to Tampa Bay, FL in April!!!!!!!!!!! FOR FREE! Its for his new job, and he will have some training classes to do during the day on 2-3 of the days, but other than that we will be on our own. We have NEVER been anywhere by ourselves for more than 2 nights. And we have never been out of state away from the girls.....so this is way over due. IAMSOEXCITED!
Anyone live in Tampa? Or has visited? I need a few pointers on vacationing there! I will take all the input that I can! I want to irritate my husband with romantic places to go.....hehehehe.
