My Hot Birthday Date & My Pity Party

Ok, so my husband is hot, but my birthday was like any other regular day....
4 kids woke me before the sun was up. I got Macy off to school. Sophie and Kae wanted cereal and then Emma of course wanted eggs...she can never just eat something 'normal'. I always have to cook something for her! Anyway, I did some laundry, made my bed, played with the girls, talked on the phone, read some blogs, was nosey on Facebook and read email. Just like every other day. Then my MIL showed up with a cake for the girls to decorate and told me that she was going to babysit! YOO-HOO that meant Geoff was going to take me out. Or so I thought. Well he did take me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. I have never been there before, with 4 kids there are lots of places that I have never been! Anyway, my steak was really good and it was nice to just sit and eat with no one eating off my plate, etc.
So then we went to Home Depot. Its right accross the street and we are starting to make plans to finish our basement so I have design on my mind. But when we went to Target to look at new shirts for his new job, I started to get irritated. So after looking at flat screens that we can't afford, I told him I was ready to go home. He even suggested walking through Pets Mart!!! We don't even own any pets!! Okay, so we have a siamese fighting fish named Albert, but that doesn't count.
SO by this time it had started to snow and I was nervous about my MIL driving home in it, so we headed home. He did get me a DQ Blizzard. They didn't have the pumpkin pie blizzard anymore and I had to re-order at the window, but it tasted good. He could have taken me to the show, but that would have required too much planning. In his defense he just got a new job and they are working him to death at his current job before he leaves so he is really tired and I feel for him. Presents you ask? Oh I got a steak and Blizzar for my birthday!
So we hit the Redbox in hopes of a good rental and got home and put the girls in bed and guess what movie he got? Yep, a real winner of a show. Pineapple Express. Now If I were still in high school, then I would have watched it 50 times by now, but at this stage in my life there are other things that I would rather watch! So a quarter of the way through it Geoff fell asleep and I turned it off and went to bed. Only to be woken by a throwing up child at 4:30 this morning.......I have been spraying the house with Lysol and washing rugs, etc.
Its going to be a great day!

Somehow it seems that birthdays are traded in when we acquire the title of mom...so sorry yours was less than stellar...and REALLY sorry you've got a sick kid. I hope it stops with one.

*hugs*

I just wanted to add....sometimes men are just "NOT SMART" about birthdays and such...it's not that they don't love us...they are just stupid!

I think my hubby and yours must of been brothers in a previous life. I did NOT marry Mr. Romantic or even anything close!!! But love that man anyway!!

Oh man. I was thinking while reading your post that maybe he was keeping you out because there was a BIG surprise for you at home. Well at least he took you out. I had a friend take me out but not my hubby. He wouldn't even go with me.

My kids had that stomach virus last week...made it through all of us despite the Lysol. Hope it goes better for you!

Hey...at least your husband thinks to take you out to dinner and get a Dairy Queen!

I'm lucky if I SEE my husband on my Birthday! He just doesn't think birthdays are THAT big of a deal!

As IF!!!

OMG I think we are neighbors as I know the Texas Roadhouse you are speaking of and the Home Depot. :) I hope your sick child gets better in the mean time keep spraying that Lysol. Happy belated birthday!

Ugh...men! My hubby has a similar birthday track record. Someday, he'll learn that it's a lot more expensive for him to forget my birthday than to cough up a gift.

I'm so sorry but I know EXACTLY how you feel! This is how EVERY birthday and anniversary goes around here! My man has NEVER heard of PLANNING and making you feel special! I'm glad you got a hot date and good food though!

I saw Pineapple Express in the theater with my husband and my 69 year old mother. I hated it. I kept thinking how we rarely go to the movies, and we were wasting it. No pun intended. The weird thing is, my mom liked it. My husband loved it.

I came to you blog via Tempt my Tummy Tuesday, but am enjoying the rest of it, now.

I hope your next birthday is full of romance and fun surprises!
